Somerset firefighter injured battling brush fire

Brush fireA Somerset volunteer firefighter was injured Wednesday battling a brush fire in Somerset Borough.
Somerset fire chief Steve Miller said the firefighter was taken to Somerset Hospital then later flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He declined to give the firefighter's name, nature of injury and said he did not have information about his condition. The injury happened when fire crews were called to the scene of a brush fire along Pine Street in the borough around 5 p.m. The fire started because a resident was burning leaves in their backyard, which is a violation of borough code
